News Abounds!

With the summer convention season all but a memory, I can FINALLY take the time to offer a few quick tidbits on current and up-and-coming projects, so read on!

SITE UPDATES

Several new comics solicitations have been added to the previews listings. See below for a spotlight on one special story in particular. Also, for those of you Barbara Gordon fans awaiting a trade paperback edition of the best-selling BATGIRL YEAR ONE, DC Comics is rush soliciting one for November release!

The comicography has been updated also, with recent comic book images and credits, including several foreign language editions of a "comedic" collection not available in the United States.

TO THE ARROWCAR!

I've written this December's GREEN ARROW #33, my second romp with the Emerald Archer. Penciled beautifully by Shawn Martinbrough and inked by Mark McKenna, "Antiques Roadshow" features Ollie's attempts to re-acquire a lost Arrowcar by engaging in an online bidding war with the Scavenger! Read it, it's good clean fun!

MYSTERIES OF THE UNKNOWN!

RUSE fans can take a little sneak peek at the cover of RUSE #28, a tale that reveals more undisclosed details of detective Simon Archard's secret past!

KNIGHTS END

As I write this update, I'm finishing off my final issue of BATMAN: GOTHAM KNIGHTS, ending a seventeen-issue run on the title featuring quite possibly my all-time favorite comic book characters. BATMAN: GOTHAM KNIGHTS #49 caps off the three-part "Veritas Liberat" arc, which itself is the culmination of plot-threads I began back in GOTHAM KNIGHTS #33, my very first issue on the book.

Please join me with penciler Roger Robinson and inker John Floyd for our remaining tales, including a one-issue return of the Spook and the aforementioned three-parter, a storyline that brings the antagonism between Batman and Bane to its cataclysmic conclusion with the entire Bat-Family on hand for the melee!

NEW DC PROJECTS FROM DK

In just a few short weeks, my latest Dorling Kindersley hardcover will be released. WONDER WOMAN: THE ULTIMATE GUIDE TO THE AMAZON PRINCESS is the largest DC-related book to date at 244 pages! Check out Adam Hughes' spiffy cover at right.

Next up, I'm writing CATWOMAN: THE ESSENTIAL GUIDE, a 64-page tome devoted to Batman's fetching feline fatale. Look for it in early 2004.

Also on tap for 2004 is a gargantuan DC ENCYCLOPEDIA, which I'm co-writing alongside Bob Greenberger (DC Collected Editions Editor, author, and continuity guru), Phil Jimenez (writer/artist extraordinaire whose recent credits include WONDER WOMAN for DC and NEW X-MEN at Marvel Comics), and Daniel Wallace (STAR WARS: THE ESSENTIAL CHARACTER GUIDE).

After this, there's nothing in the DCU we won't know… unless, of course, all that DC trivia and errata just makes our heads explode.

That would be bad…

Yucky bad.

That's it for now! See you on the Discussion Board!

Scott
