As I write this, www.scottbeatty.com is officially online.
The last few months have been a whirlwind of activity for me. Just this week I've capped off three projects I'm proud to finally see reach fruition: a hardcover book, yet another collaboration with friend and fellow comic book writer Chuck Dixon (see dixonverse.net), and the website you see here.
Unfortunately, I can't talk about the first two items until April 1st or just a little after. Come April Fool's Day, I'll be posting an update which is anything but a joke and will begin to shed light on these TOP SECRET offerings.
As for the latter, let me give credit where credit's due: If Scott McCullar lived in 16th century Salem, he'd be burned as a witch. Scott's design and implementation of this website is nothing short of magic. After meeting Scott in Chicago a few years ago and seeing his work on some rather notable comic book-related dot.coms (see Links), I knew beyond any doubt that he was the ONLY choice for Webmaster. I encourage you to explore this site and check out Scott's other digital domains, including his own personal website devoted to Green Arrow.
In
the meantime, I hope fans of DC Comics' Teen Wonder Tim Drake check
out ROBIN #88, on sale March 21st. Beginning in this issue,
I'm co-writing the title for four months with regular series scribe
Chuck Dixon. "SECRETS AND LIES" starts to unravel the
bizarre heritage of Tim's schoolmate Danny Temple, introduced
in ROBIN #82. Clues linking Danny's connection to an established
DC character have been dappled throughout ROBIN since his
first appearance
and we're finally ready to cement the connection
in this four-issue, globe-spanning adventure. I welcome feedback
and dialogue concerning the issue on my Message Board.
I'd also like to take the opportunity to offer kudos to all the readers who have helped to make ROBIN: YEAR ONE such a wonderful success. If you haven't read it, what are you waiting for? Buy it. BUY IT NOW!
I've got my eye on this pony and horse chow don't come cheap.
I'll be weighing in on the Message Board from time to time, in addition to catching up on sleep, exercise, and reading just for the fun of it. And I'll be back here in just two short weeks to spill the beans about that unmentionable stuff.
Thanks for logging on!
Regards,
Scott Beatty
